Al Karamah School Abu Dhabi

Project Details
The site of the school is located in Al Rowdah, near Al Karamah Street in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. An existing government school building in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi was refurbished to provide a safe, secure and engaging learning environment for children with Autism. This includes specially designed classroom ‘hubs’, therapy rooms, a multi-purpose and dining halls as well as a large oasis-style garden in the courtyard. The space comprises 2 floors and a total of 86,000 SQFT building area. The school commenced operation in January 2019. Operated by Priory Education and Children’s Services, the school staff includes a team of dedicated therapists and teachers for up to 260 Emirati children.

Office of the Future Dubai

The Office of the Future is the world’s first 3D printed office building and was created on behalf of the Dubai Government, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai.

The Office of the Future project consists of fully useable commercial office space, printed layer by layer using a 20-foot-tall 3D printer, located in Shanghai, China. Each structural component was built using innovative 3D printing technology, combining a mixture of Special Reinforced Concrete (SRC) and recycled construction material.

The world’s first 3D printed office building was successfully project managed by PMKConsult.

Now complete, the building serves as the management office for the ‘Museum of the Future’ project and provides a headquarters for the Dubai Future Foundation, an organisation that will help to deliver smart technologies to the Emirates, including driverless cars and other cutting edge technologies.

Project Details
Imkan set their target to move their existing offices from CI Tower, Abu Dhabi to a warehouse located in Mina Port, Abu Dhabi. The project comprised of the renovation of an existing dilapidated warehouse into a fully functioning high grade office fit-out for their team of 50. The warehouse was transformed into a state-of-the art work space with high end furniture. The space was generated through creation of a mezzanine floor based on a steel structure. The intent of an industrial feel was maintained throughout with integration of exposed ceilings and columns. All AC ducts were cladded with aluminum sheets.

Sotheby's is an international auction house from London, UK, which was seeking to establish their presence in Dubai, UAE. They chose a prestigious location in the Dubai International Financial District as their new operating location. Sotherby's new gallery space in DIFC consists of approximately 300sqm. The space from the previous tenant needed to be re-designed to meet the bespoke needs of Sotheby's. When the PMKConsult team were called onto this project, it had been delayed through stakeholders not taking enough initiative to drive the project forward. On site, PMKConsult worked very closely with the client and the DIFC team from the outset to ensure the quality respected the client's needs. PMK was able to plan the further steps to allow the project to move forward quickly and effectively and assisted the client in all matters to ensure the successful delivery of their project.
